It's here, and it's different
Staff Wizard 2008 is a completely new product. We asked existing users what would make it easier for them to use. We got so many great ideas that it was impossible to try and incorporate them all into a minor release. We had to think bigger. So, we started over and made sure it would live up to your expectations.
As a part of the redesign, we made a radical decision. Instead of relying on the traditional desktop application metaphor, we built upon the latest Web technology. As the World Wide Web has advanced in the last five or six years, new technologies have emerged to make the web browser a viable platform for product deployment. Rather than have your application tied to a single computer- and forcing you to manage all the resources necessary to operate the program, only a small portion of the application is delivered to your computer. Most of the computational power and management is provided by a remote application server.
This architecture provides several inherent benefits to you as a user:
- Staff Wizard is just a click away - As long as you have Internet connectivity, you can access Staff Wizard. No matter where you are, when you log in, things will be just as you left them!
- Built-in Collaboration - If you work as a team, all of your members can access the same data and share data together. This makes group projects much easier.
- More Computing Power - You don't have to buy an array of expensive servers to churn away for days at a time on your analysis. We provide a cluster of computers to crunch the numbers so you'll have access to much more processing power than would be practical in your typical desktop computer.
- No more patching or upgrading - You will always be using the latest version of the program. You don't have to worry about upgrading your software.
Browser Compatability
Staff Wizard 2008 uses features of web browsers that have emerged only in the last few years. As a result, you will need to log in using a recent browser version.
