Corona Solutions Funds New Award at International Association of Crime Analysts Conference

Innovation in Crime Analysis Award will Recognize an Individual or Team for Breaking New Ground in Crime Analysis Technique

Ft. Lupton, Colo., April 24, 2007—Corona Solutions, the innovator of CADmine®, Staff Wizard™, and GeoBalance™ software for law enforcement agencies, today announced that they are sponsoring the "Innovations in Crime Analysis" award to be presented at the 2007 International Association of Crime Analysts (IACA) Conference. This award will recognize an individual or team that has developed, implemented and had success with a new method, process, technique, or tool for crime analysis.

"Corona Solutions is pleased to offer this award," said Dale Harris, President of Corona Solutions and former President of the IACA, "As we continue to embrace new and improved technology, it is important for law enforcement professionals to be innovative in crime analysis to more effectively fight crime. We are excited to have the opportunity to help formally recognize an individual or team that has successfully implemented a major innovation in this field."

In addition to presenting the prestigious "Innovation in Crime Analysis Award" trophy to the winners, Corona Solutions will grant a $2000 scholarship to pay the winners' registration, travel, and lodging expenses to the IACA Annual Training Conference in Pasadena, California in September. The balance of the amount, if any, will be donated to a charity or nonprofit of the winners' choosing.

To be eligible for the award, candidates must be members of the IACA and must be currently working as crime analysts or in a related position. He or she must be willing to freely share the method or tool without restriction other than retaining any associated copyright or intellectual property rights.

"By sponsoring this award, Corona Solutions is both recognizing and encouraging new tools and techniques in a field that needs them desperately. It gives our members a chance for some much-deserved acclaim," said Christopher Bruce, President of IACA.

A committee chosen by IACA will review submissions and select the winners. Winners will then demonstrate their innovations at the IACA Conference. Details of the innovations will be made available to conference attendees so they can take the ideas back to their home agencies and replicate the success.
